The ruling Bharatiya Janatha Party is heading towards a landslide victory in Uttar Pradesh. BJP, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has shattered a few records in the process of their big win.

* Yogi Adityanath has become the first Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh to complete the full tenure of five years and go on to win a second consecutive term. UP has seen 21 Chief Ministers in 70 years and Yogi is the first to achieve this feat.

* Yogi Adityanath becomes the first Chief Minister to retain power in 37 years. Earlier, Narayan Dutt Tiwari of Congress was Chief Minister of undivided Uttar Pradesh in 1985. The state went to the election and ND Tiwari retained his post as Congress won that election.

* Yogi Adityanath is also the first BJP Chief Minister to return to power. Kalyan Singh, Ram Prakash Gupta, and defense minister Rajnath Singh worked as the CMs for the state but none of them managed to retain the power. Yogi is the first one to do so.

* Yogi Adityanath has also broken the Noida jinx. There is this sentiment that whichever Chief Minister visits the city during his power will fail to complete his tenure or retain his power. However, in 2018 Yogi visited the residential-cum-industrial area. Then Akhilesh Yadav commented that Yogi will lose the upcoming elections. Akhilesh himself prevented visiting the city during his tenure. Yogi Adityanath proved him wrong by winning this election.
