Gunasekhar’s mythological period drama Shaakunthalam will be postponed once again. It is known that the project was announced for February 17th release. The date was finalized after a lot of deliberation. It has been in post-production mode for a very long time. However, the postponement comes as the Bollywood biggie Shehzaada postpones the release.
The official Ala Vaikunthapurramulo remake Shehzaada was initially scheduled for February 10th release but following the stupendous success of SRK’s Pathaan, Shehzaada was postponed by a week and will now come on February 17th. A direct clash with Shehzaada will be a mistake from the Pan-Indian project Shaakunthalam.
So, there is no other choice but to postpone their flick. Guna Sekhar is currently looking at another possible release date. Samantha plays the titular role in the movie. Dev Mohan will be seen as King Dushyanth. The project is based on Kalidas’s play Abhignana Shaakunthalam from Mahabharata. Manisharma is the music composer for this film.
