Tamil actor Udayanidhi Stalin has announced that he is going to retire from films. His upcoming movie Maamannan will be his last. The decision was taken in order to focus on his political career. Udayanidhi Stalin is representing the Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni constituency as the MLA. He is actively participating in the state’s politics. He is the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin.

The actor has said that it is quite difficult to manage both film and political careers and thus he has decided to call it quits for his acting career. Maamannan has Keerthy Suresh and Fahadh Fazil in the other lead roles and the film is directed by Mari Selvaraj. AR Rahman is composing music for the movie.

Udayanidhi is also awaiting the release of the film Nenjuku Needhi which is the official remake of the Hindi movie Article 19. The movie is directed by Arunraja Kamaraj and is scheduled for release on May 20.
