It has been a long time since Bollywood has seen massive success. Films like 83, Bachchan Pandey, Attack, Jersey, Runway34, and others have been released and regardless of the content, they all underperformed. Some of them turned out to be shocking failures. At the same time, some of the dubbing films Pushpa: The Rise, KGF Chapter 2, and RRR have seen tremendous success.
What is the reason behind this? The answer is simple. There is no connection to a pandemic or whatever. The audiences have been harsh on content. There are times pre-pandemic where audiences have voted for below-average flicks. They had no choice back then. But now with the increase in OTT content, audiences are waiting for the movies to arrive on digital media. Audiences are not ready to watch average content movies on the silver screen. If the mark misses, they are going to wait for the OTT release.
So Bollywood brace yourself. Bring in the best content and then see the difference.
