Mississippi-based furniture company United Furnitures which is one of the largest furniture companies in the USA has laid off more than 2,500 employees 4 days before Thanksgiving day. The decision comes as a shock as the company sacks their employees with no notice or redundancy in pay while they are in their sleep.

The more frustrating thing for the employees is that the decision was announced through texts and emails. The company further made it clear that they are going to pay the employees for only the work they’d done. However, the drivers who are on the roads delivering the goods will be paid till the weekend.

With this sudden notice and no further benefits as well, one of the ex-staff members has filed a lawsuit against the company as it violated federal law.
