India has today announced the 17-men squad for the Asia Cup ODI squad. KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer return to the side after long-term injuries. Youngster Tilak Varma has also been included in the squad for the first time. Indian Wicket Keeper batsman Sanju Samson was named as the backup for the 2023 Asia Cup.
The 17-men Asia Cup squad includes Rohit Sharma, Shubhman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, Prasidh Krishna.
Chairman of Selectors Ajit Agarkar announced the squad for the Asia Cup 2023. Captain Rohit Sharma and Coach Rahul Dravid have also been included in the selection process. After the internal meeting, the squad was announced. According to Agarkar, KL Rahul is carrying a niggle and will miss the first few games of the Asia Cup.
