As per the initial draft schedule of the upcoming ODI world cup, the defending champions England will open the tournament with a clash against the runners-up of the previous edition of New Zealand on October 5th. The final of this mega tournament will be held on November 19th.
The BCCI will share the draft schedule with the ICC, which then will be sent to all the participating boards for feedback before the final schedule will be announced. The entire process might take at least a week.
According to the initial draft schedule, India will open the tournament with a match against Australia in Chennai on October 8th. The all-important clash against Pakistan for India will be conducted in Ahmedabad on October 15th. The venues for the semifinals which are likely to be held on November 15th and 16th are yet to be decided.
A total of 10 teams will participate in the mega clash with 8 teams already confirmed the remaining two teams will be decided with qualifier matches.
