IPL 2022 is going to kickstart with 10 teams with 2 new teams Ahmedabad and Lucknow set to start their IPL journey. The new two teams have announced their IPL drafted players and it is no surprise. Much close to the rumors Ahmedabad has picked Team India star all-rounder Hardik Pandya as their captain. Hardik is happy to represent Hardik Pandya and he said in a statement, “We are a new team. I can say one thing, we fight and we don’t give up until the end”.
Along with Hardik, Ahmedabad has also picked mystery spinner Rashid Khan and youngster Shubhman Gill. Coming to the Lucknow franchise, they have been named KL Rahul as their captain. He was offered Rs. 17 Crores to be drafted which is the joint highest bid in IPL history. Team owner, Dr. Sanjiv Goenka, has said in a video statement.
“We have finalized our three-player retentions ahead of the auctions. First is KL Rahul, he will lead the team. Second is Marcus Stoinis, the Australian allrounder. The third is the very young and talented Ravi Bishnoi, We have great expectations from him.”
With the retentions announced, we have to wait and see how these teams will shape up.
