Here’s how the mini-auction went for the Sunrisers Hyderabad

The mini-auction for the next year’s IPL was held yesterday in Kerala and it was some sort of event. Sam Curran, England’s allrounder made the headlines for being the biggest buy in the history of IPL. Punjab Kings shelled out Rs. 18.25 Crores for him. There are other huge buys like Ben Stokes, Cameron Green, Nicholas Pooran, Harry Brook, etc.,

Now, let us analyze how the auction went for the SRH. The Hyderabad-based team surprised everyone by releasing Kane Williamson who was in awful form this year. Instead, they went to an extent of Rs. 13.25 Crores for England’s explosive batsman Harry Brook. By releasing Nicholas Pooran, SRH didn’t have a specialist keeper. So, they went for SA’s Henrich Klaasen for Rs. 5.25 Crores. They even covered the opening base by snapping up Mayank Agarwal for Rs. 8.25 Crores.

There are some smart buys as well by picking up Adil Rashid for Rs. 2 Cr, and Mayank Markhande for Rs. 50 lakhs, etc., SRH faced a problem by lacking a specialist legspinner in IPL 2022. They covered this problem with the above-said 2 legspinners. They also picked blasting batsman like Samarth Vyas, Vivranth Sharma, etc.,

Overall, it was a decent auction for SRH.
