BCCI has picked the T20 side for the upcoming West Indies tour. India will play 5 T20s in this series along with ODIs and Tests. The Selection Committee continues not to include the senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Hardik Pandya continues to lead the side for the shorter format of the game and Suryakumar Yadav is his deputy.
Ajit Agarkar-led selection panel picked a 15-member squad for the series. Yashasi Jaiswal and Tilak Varma earned call-ups for the senior side after impressive IPL stints. However, the selection committee ignored the heroics of Rinku Singh. Axar Patel and Avesh Khan return to the side. Umran Malika continues to be with the team while Mukesh Kumar has been selected in the T20 side as well.
Rahul Tripathi, Prithvi Shaw, Jitesh Sharma, Washington Sundar, and Shivam Mavi who were part of the NZ series were excluded from the squad. Ruturaj Gaikwad was not picked for the selection.
