Bangladesh veteran Wicket Keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim has announced his retirement from the T20 Internationals. His retirement came after Bangladesh’s exit in the group stages of the Asia Cup was defeated by Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.

Mushfiqur Rahim released a statement announcing his retirement and in the post, he stated that to focus on the ODIs and the Tests, he has taken the decision to retire from the T20 Internationals. Mushfiqur Rahim has represented Bangladesh in every World Cup since the start of the T20 World Cup.

“I would like to announce my retirement from T20 Internationals and focus on test and ODI formats of the game. I will be available to play in franchise leagues when the opportunity arrives. Looking forward to proudly representing my nation in the two formats,” said Rahim.

It is known that earlier this year, Tamim Iqbal retired from the T20Is to concentrate on the longer formats.
