Asia Cup 2022: 5 reasons why India lost to Pakistan

India crumbled in the Super 4s as Pakistan beat their arch-rivals India by 5 wickets. There were many ups and downs in the match with the result swinging in both directions but Pakistan batted sensibly and snatched away the victory in front of India. Here are the 5 reasons why India succumbed to loss.

1. Too many dot balls:

India started on a high in yesterday’s match. Making the maximum utilization of the Power Play, India raced away to 54 in just 5 overs and a score of 90 in just 10 overs. However, in the last 10 overs, India couldn’t take the score to next level. They only settled for 181 which proved 10-15 runs short by the end.

2. Middle-order woes

India expected a strong finish after the start they got. However, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, and Deepak Hooda have failed to score runs which put pressure on Virat Kohli.

3. Catches

Asif Ali’s catch drop by Arshdeep proved costly as he went on to score 16 in just 8 balls.

4. Smart batting by Pakistan

Pakistan is considered to be unpredictable. But they batted sensibly in the chase. Rizwan held one end up. On the other hand, Mohammad Nawaz’s promotion up the order has proved match-winning as well.

5. Toss

Toss also played a crucial role as said by Rohit, batting became relatively easier in the second half.

Nevertheless, we wish India will come back stronger and we could see another India vs Pakistan clash in the finals.
