Movie: Stand Up Rahul
Star Cast: Raj Tarun, Varsha Bollamma, Murali Sharma, Indraja, etc.,
Director: Santo
Producer: Nandkumar Abbineni, Bharath Maguluri
Music: Sweekar Agasthi

Raj Tarun has been lying low in his career with continuous flops. He needs a solid hit to revive his career and he pinned hopes on Stand Up Rahul which is promoted as a new-age romantic drama. Let us have a look at the review.

Story:
As the title suggests, this movie is all about Rahul and his conflict between pressure and passion. He wants to become a Stand Up Comedian but chose another profession as his mother says. He likes Shriya Rao (Varsha Bollamma). He doesn’t have the courage to do that. Rahul doesn’t want to get married either. He takes his separated parents as an example of this.

Can Rahul Stand Up in his personal and professional lives? Will his struggle ends?

Performances:
Raj Tarun’s urban makeover is good. He looks trendy and stylish. His performance is good as well. Varsha Bollamma is impressive in another good role. However, she is getting stereotyping in her choices. She did alright.

Murali Sharma and Indraja as separated parents fit the role. Surprisingly, Vennela Kishore doesn’t leave any impact but that does have to do with the writing. Others are fine.

Technicalities:
Sweekar Agasthi’s music goes with the flow. It is decent. The background score is even better. It evoked emotions. The visuals in the movie need special mention. They are vibrant setting up perfectly with the urban setup. Sreeraj Raveendran should be commended for that. Editing is fine with almost no complaints.

The actual point is fine and the writing should have been better. The narration takes an up and down bumpy ride. Shanto should have worked on the screenplay more.

Analysis:
Stand Up Rahul is a trendy movie that has the point to connect well with the audiences. However, Shanto’s narration doesn’t give scope for that. It ends up as another below-average fare in Raj Tarun’s career.

Rating: 2.25/5
