Mega Star Chiranjeevi is back with another movie titled GodFather. The movie is the official remake of the Malayalam blockbuster Lucifer. Let us see how the movie is.
Story:
PKR’s sudden demise sees an opportunity for Jayadev (Satya Dev), PKR’s son-in-law to become the next Chief Minister of the state. Satya Priya (Nayanthara) is against it and some of the party members are as well.
Here enters Brahma (Chiranjeevi), PKR’s mistress son, an influential person in the party to stop Jayadev’s plans. How will the power game turn forms the rest of the story?
Performances:
Chiranjeevi has got a subtle role but it was designed powerfully. Chiranjeevi looks perfect in the salt and pepper look. There are many sequences in the movie where Chiranjeevi’s eyes speak volumes. His intense performance will be a treat to watch.
Satya Dev is stunning as a baddie. He is ably supported by Murali Sharma. Nayanthara played the wife of Satya Dev and she is equally good. Puri, Sunil, Samuthirakani, Divi, Murali Mohan, and others are okay in their roles. Salman Khan’s cameo is excellent.
Technicalities:
Music by SS Thaman is one of the major plus points. His songs are just okay but the BGM is next level. Nirav Shah’s cinematography is good. Editing is fine. The production values are adequate.
Director Mohan Raja should be commended for the way he adapted the original. He kept the soul intact and added much flavor to it. Many heroism elevation sequences aren’t in the original.
Analysis:
GodFather is a very good remake. The movie will be just okay for those who watched the original but it will be a good treat for those who haven’t. Especially for the mega fans. Chiranjeevi shoulders the film effectively.
