Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister right before he came into charge has been vocal about decentralization of administration. He has now completed the process of setting up 13 new districts. YS Jagan has today virtually inaugurated 13 new districts of Andhra Pradesh from his camp office in Tadepalli.

With the addition of these 13 new districts, Andhra Pradesh will have 26 districts. YS Jagan, on the occasion, has said that the new districts have been set up for the administration convenience and decentralization.

Jagan has said that a state like Arunachal Pradesh with a very less population and area when compared to Andhra Pradesh also had 26 districts. With the formation of new districts, the average population per district is now 19 lakh 7 thousand people.

* Anakapalli district – Anakapalli

* Kakinada – Kakinada

* Kona Seema – Amalapuram

* Eluru – Eluru

* NTR – Vijayawada

* Bapatla – Bapatla

* Palnadu – Narsaraopeta

* Nandyal – Nandyal

* Sri Satyasai – Puttaparthy

* Sri Balaji – Tirupati

* Annamayya – Rayachoty
