Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao a few hours back inaugurated Asia’s biggest government-funded housing project at Kollur. The double-bedroom dignity housing project is named KCR Nagar. Ministers KT Rama Rao, T Harish Rao, Vemula Prashanth Reddy, P Sabitha Indra Reddy, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, and Ch Malla Reddy along with other MLAs, MPs, BRS leaders, GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari, and other officials attended the mega event.

KCR went on a tour around the housing project in a battery-operated vehicle before planting a sapling on the project premises. He allotted housing units to some of the beneficiaries like Gaddameedi Renuka, Haisiya Begum, Mudawath Sharada, Pulligala Devi, Chakali Sujatha, and Ketavath Keerthi.

In a total of 117 blocks, the project comprises 15,660 units. These units have a hall, kitchen, two toilets, two bedrooms, and a utility area constructed in the plinth area of 560 sq. ft. and 398 sq. ft of carpet area. The highlight of the project is that only 37 percent of the area was used for buildings and the remaining area is left for open space which will be used for roads, footpaths, and Children’s play areas. Also, around 30K trees were planted in the project area.
