K Kavitha, Telangana MLC, daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has today missed out on the ED date. It is known that Kavitha was summoned by the ED in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy Case for the second time. The first time, Kavitha was grilled for over 9 hours and she was supposed to be before ED today for the second round of questioning.
Instead of appearing personally, Kavitha sent the sought-after documents through her legal representative to the ED. She approached the Supreme Court for an urgent hearing claiming that as a woman, she cannot be summoned to the ED office and the ED authorities must visit her instead.
However, sources say that ED is not satisfied with her sending documents through her representative and is insisting on her appearance. A bench comprising Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice PS Narasimha had agreed to hear her request on March 24.
Meanwhile, BRS today put up a massive show of strength in Delhi. Top leaders including KTR, Harish Rao, and others have flown to the capital in solidarity with K Kavitha.
