Former Union Minister Sharad Yadav breathed his last on Thursday. He was aged 75 years and has been battling age-related illness for a long time. Sharad Yadav, according to the reports, collapsed in his home and was taken immediately to the Fortis Memorial Research Institute in Gurugram.

He was brought in an unconscious and unresponsive state, the Research Institute stated in a statement. “He did not have any pulse or recordable blood pressure. As per the ACLS protocols, CPR was performed and despite the best efforts, he could not be revived and was declared dead at 10:19 PM,” reads the statement.

Sharad Yadav served as a minister in VP Singh’s government and Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s government. He was elected to Lok Sabha seven times and Rajya Sabha three times.

In the year 2018, Sharad Yadav started his own political party Loktantrik Janata Dal in Bihar but two years later merged it with Lalu Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal.
