Telugu Desam Party chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu today visited Kuppam and this trip turned violent as protestants from both the TDP and YSRCP parties were involved in a clash. It is said that the YSRCP leaders attacked the Anna Canteen set up and organized by the TDP people. CBN was touring the Ramakuppam Mandal to launch the “Badude Badudu” program against the ruling party.
Minutes before the arrival of Mr. Naidu, YSRCP activists reportedly erected banners and flexes of the ruling party which irked the opposition. This led to the clash and turned dirty within minutes.
The scenario turned into high tension and an unofficial curfew is imposed in the constituency. Buses were restricted to the bus depots and Police have taken the situation into control.
In the clash, Two sub-inspectors of Kuppam Rural and Palamaner circle were among the injured, and also a TDP worker who got injured in the clash has been taken to a nearby hospital.
