Team India won the toss and elected to bat first in the Rajkot test which favors batting initially. India has gone with two seamers and two spinners in the mix and they have given a chance to two debutants. Sarfaraz Khan gets his long-time due and Dhruv Jurel gets his maiden cap as well. KS Bharat failed to latch on to the opportunities and the management thought of moving on to other options hence Dhruv Jurel.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma tried to be aggressive in their approach but early wickets pegged back India. While Yashasvi Jaiswal was out for just 10 runs, Shubhman Gill followed him without troubling the scorers. Rajat Patidar couldn’t make much impact either. He was gone for a mere 5 runs.
