Dil Raju had to face a lot of negativity for this Sankranthi season. He distributed Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram in Nizam and not allotting number of theaters for HanuMan has brought him controversy. He has only distributed Guntur Kaaram and it had been a better thing if he has a movie released for Sankranthi.
Initially, Vijay Deverakonda, Mrunal Thakur’s Family Star was announced for Sankranthi festival but it was later postponed to avoid rushing. Had the film released for Sankranthi, then it would be a huge advantage for it.
Of the four films released, Saindhav was a complete washout. Nagarjuna’s Naa Saami Ranga is seeing better numbers but it was not a outright blockbuster. Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram suffered initial negativity. Sankranthi holiday season saved the film. HanuMan dominated the Sankranthi festival holidays. The festival season is a huge thing and it could easily accommodate two blockbuster.
Had Family Star came for Sankranthi, then it would utilize the festival advantage to the fullest.
