After the recent Quad ministerial meeting in Melbourne, State Department Spokesperson Ned Price said that New Delhi will stand by their side in case Russia attacks Ukraine. Foreign ministers from Australia, India, Japan, and the United States attended the meeting and discussed various topics. Ned Price has revealed that there was a discussion of Russia and Ukraine as well.
“In the meeting, the strong consensus was that there should be a diplomatic and peaceful resolution to the issue. India is committed to a rules-based international order and we are in hope that they will stand by our side in case of a Russian invasion of Ukraine,” he said.
Ned Price has responded to a question stating that borders cannot be redrawn by force and also large countries cannot bully small countries. “Only the people of a particular country can choose their foreign policies, their associations, etc.,” This was said in reference to the aggressive behavior of China against its neighbors including India.
