Korean survival drama series Squid Game has been one of the stand-out hits last year. The series was binge-watched by millions of Indians as well. The ending of season 1 hints at a sequel. However, there has not been an official confirmation until now. However, Netflix co-CEO and chief content officer Ted Sarandos confirmed that Netflix is going to renew for season 2 of Squid Game.
When asked about the second season, Ted affirmed, “Absolutely”, he added, “The Squid Game universe has just begun.” This is indeed very happy news about the most viewed TV series on Netflix. In the first 28 days of the series release, almost the subscribers streamed 1.65 billion hours of the show.
Previously, “Squid Game” creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has hinted that the series will return for a sequel. “It’s in my head right now. My team is brainstorming for season 2. With so much love the series is getting, we have left with no choice but to come up with Season 2,” he added.
