Britain: People gathered with the tri-colour in front of the Indian High Commission

Many people of the Indian community in Britain held a peaceful protest outside the Indian High Commission. This demonstration was done in response to Sunday’s demonstration.

Organizers told that the event was organized in solidarity with the Indian High Commission and its staff and in protest against the desecration of the Indian flag by protesters on Sunday. The people present there raised slogans of Jai Hind and Jai Bharat.

On Monday, a suspect has been arrested in connection with the ruckus in the Indian High Commission on behalf of the furious mob in the British capital London.

Several videos went viral on social media in which flags of “Khalistan” were seen in the hands of the crowd. In this video, a person is seen taking down the tri-color on the Indian High Commission.

After this matter came to the fore, India lodged a strong objection to Britain. India summoned the senior British diplomat present in Delhi and demanded an explanation over the complete “absence of security” after pro-Khalistan separatist elements pulled down the Indian flag at the Indian high commission in London during a protest. In a strongly-worded statement, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said India finds “unacceptable” the indifference of the UK government to the security of Indian diplomatic premises and personnel in the UK.

“It is expected that the UK Government would take immediate steps to identify, arrest and prosecute each one of those involved in today’s incident, and put in place stringent measures to prevent the recurrence of such incidents,” the MEA added.
