Six people, including three children, have died in a school shooting in Nashville, Tennessee, USA. The children killed in the firing are 9 years old. The age of the three adults killed in the firing is around 60.
28-year-old attacker Audrey Hale has died in retaliation by the police.
The school where the shooting took place is a private school in Nashville where children up to the age of 11 study.
After this attack, once again there has been a discussion on the old debate about the change in the law of gun keeping in America. US President Joe Biden has spoken of taking action in cases of gun violence.
Expressing grief over the incident, the US President has ordered the national flag to be lowered to half mast by the end of March.
A woman eye witness who lives near the school, told local media: “The initial eight or ten shots were very loud. The school is only two blocks away from our house. This is very sad and can happen to anyone.
Nashville Police Chief John Drake told, “He opened fire on anyone who got in his way.” Police have told that the attackers were transgender. Police described the shooter as a 28-year-old former student who had detailed maps of the school. Nashville police said a sense of “resentment” might have played a role in the deadly attack.
Nashville Mayor John Cooper said video from officers’ body cameras as well as from The Covenant School’s security cameras could be released to the public. The mayor called Monday the city’s “worst day.”
