Australia had an early shock against their neighboring nation New Zealand as the team got bundled out for 111 resulting in a massive loss of 89 runs. The net run rate of Australia at the moment is -4.450 which is going to haunt them for the remaining fixtures. Australia needs a massive win badly and they are now locking horns with Sri Lanka who are on the bounce of three straight wins.
After losing the first match in the qualifiers, Sri Lanka bounced back in style and is winning on the trot. Their combination looks settled. Meanwhile, Australia has a couple of problems including bowling. Pat Cummins is leaking runs. Mitchell Starc is proven ineffective. Their spin is not so good against the New Zealand batsman as well. They need to sort out these issues along with their batting approach.
It is highly unlikely that they will change their combination for the match against Sri Lanka.
