Janupalli Srinivasa Rao might not be known to many in Andhra Pradesh but when you mention Kodi Kathi Srinu, many would recognize him. He was famous for the infamous attack on the then-opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy at the Visakhapatnam airport.
Since the incident, Kodi Kathi Srinu has been rotting in jail. It’s been more than 5 years that he has been in jail and as per the latest update, the Andhra Pradesh High Court has granted him bail. The High Court has asked him not to speak about the facts of the case in front of the media. As a part of the conditions in the bail, he was asked not to be part of rallies and public gatherings either.
Srinu inside the jail and his mother outside the jail are taking part in an indefinite hunger strike to secure bail and their efforts have finally paid off. The Kodi Kathi incident happened in October 2018 and since then he has not seen the outside world. Srinu before this has applied for bail 7 times and all of them have been rejected.
