April BO: April is one of the key seasons for the Telugu Cinema. The holidays start for the schools and thus one can expect crowds thronging to the theaters. However, this April didn’t turn out as expected. Nani’s Dasara took over the theaters in the first week. The film was released on March 30th. However, April didn’t start on a positive note for the Telugu Cinema. Ravi Teja’s Ravanasura which was released on April 7th ended up as a colossal flop.

On the same day, Kiran Abbavaram’s Meter got released and turned out to be a total disaster. Next week, we have seen two releases as well. Samantha – Guna Sekhar’s Shaakunthalam which was made on a mammoth budget crashed at the BO. Lawrence’s Rudhrudu was a total waste as well.

However, Tollywood got a breather with Virupaksha which turned out to be gold at the box office. The film brought profits to all the parties involved. April last week we have seen Akhil’s Agent and Mani Ratnam’s PS2 got released. While Agent was a dud, PS2 is doing okay.
