AP High Court put stay on Rajadhani Files release

Andhra Pradesh High Court has today given a stay on the release of Rajadhani Files which was based on the troubles faced by the Amaravathi Farmers in Andhra Pradesh post YSR Congress’s government formation. The court has directed that all the records about the movie be placed before it.

MLC and YSR Congress General Secretary Lella Appi Reddy has filed a petition in the High Court to stall the release and the High Court today passed the interim orders. Appi Reddy’s lawyer VRN Prashant argued before the court that the key characters in the movie resemble YS Jaganmohan Reddy and Kodali Nani. He presented before the court that even the names of the places resemble those of Andhra Pradesh.

The petitioner alleged that the movie is being released right before the elections to malign the image of the Chief Minister and the ruling party. He said that certain sequences shown in the movie are distorting facts.

After the release of the orders, AP Police have been quick to stall the screening of the movie at various places in the state.
