Hyderabad has been witnessing uninterrupted rainfall today. In fact, for the past three days, Hyderabad has had incessant rainfall which has affected the daily life of the people living in the city. The rainfall started early morning today and has been pouring down without any interruption. We can see waterlogs in many parts of the city and the authorities have stated not to come outside of the houses until it is necessary.
With the rainfall for the past few days, Hyderabad has been in the excessive rainfall category for this month. Generally Hyderabad witnesses 101.2 mm of rainfall until the 20th of July. However, this year the recordings crossed 122.4 mm bringing it to the excessive rainfall category.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation is on high alert. The GHMC is working relentlessly to make sure that the drainage flow is smooth and there is no water logging in the city. There is an eye on the low-lying areas in the city. The Telangana Government has declared two days of holiday for educational institutions.
