Alliance vs. Jagan

The current situation in Andhra Pradesh looks like CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s frustration peaked as the NDA’s public meetings drew immense support. Alliance vs. Jagan

He praised Modi’s economic reforms and shared a vision for a developed Andhra Pradesh. Chandrababu promised progress under the tripartite alliance and urged people to oust the ‘psycho’ chief minister. He criticized Jagan for neglecting North Andhra’s development, calling the elections a battle between democracy and dictatorship.

Chandrababu challenged the government’s actions against him and criticized Jagan’s pleasure in people’s suffering. He burned copies of the Land Titling Act, symbolizing discontent.

Chandrababu expressed confidence in the NDA’s victory in Rayalaseema, mentioning opposition even in Jagan’s home segment, Pulivendula.

The Commission found both leaders guilty of using insulting personal remarks against each other during campaign rallies in the state. YS Jagan was censured for calling Chandrababu Naidu with names like ‘habitual offender’ and ‘rogue,’ while Chandrababu was rebuked for terms like ‘venom spewing’ and ‘mayala fakir.’

The Commission noted that, despite being warned, both leaders continued with these derogatory remarks. Therefore, they were directed to be more cautious in their public statements in the future.

YS Jagan vs. YS Sharmila: Chandrababu Naidu becomes the focus for the YSR family

YS Jagan vs. YS Sharmila

The Andhra Pradesh assembly elections are just a week away, and the party leaders’ campaigns are turning much more aggressive. Not only the local media but also the national media are quite interested in the AP elections this time because of multi-forces joining hands to defeat the current state CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his party, YSR Congress.

YS Jagan vs. YS Sharmila

Recently, YS Jagan gave an interview to Rajdeep Sardesai on India Today. Talking about the current election campaign scenario and the chances for the YSRCP to form government again, Jagan said that Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the TDP chief, is pulling in his foxy skills to win against him. YS Jagan mentioned that Chandrababu is the man behind putting his own sister, YS Sharmila, against him. He also added that A Revanth Reddy was also a student of Chandrababu once, and that’s the reason Congress is backing YS Sharmila in Andhra Pradesh with the support of Telangana CM. YS Jagan also went to the extent of saying that Chandrababu is even controlling PM Narendra Modi through an alliance, promising the BJP to make an impact in the south.

Responding to these allegations, YS Sharmila, in her interview with the BBC, said that YS Jagan’s campaign revolves much around Chandrababu Naidu and not welfare. She added that the CM is the one highlighting the power of Chandrababu Naidu at both the state and central levels, thinking that he is defaming him. YS Sharmila also clarified that she is not being backed by Chandrababu Naidu, and it’s just the respect she has for a senior leader in the state in inviting him to her son’s marriage. She also made fun of YS Jagan, saying that he has a fear of facing Chandrababu Naidu in the state for the upcoming elections.

TDP leader Nara Chandrababu Naidu compared the YSRCP’s rule to Adolf Hitler’s Nazism and urged people to vote against it on May 13. Speaking in Panyam, Nandyal district, with party candidates, Chandrababu Naidu criticized Jagan Reddy’s dictatorial behavior, causing distress to both citizens and his own family.

Chandrababu Naidu expressed regret for people in Rayalaseema supporting YSRCP in the last election, leading to 49 out of 52 seats won in the region. He highlighted developmental projects during TDP’s time, questioning if development stalled under YSRCP.

Regarding irrigation projects, Chandrababu Naidu criticized Jagan for neglecting them, as mentioned by Home Minister Amit Shah. He also discussed TDP’s welfare schemes and promised a balance between welfare and development through the NDA alliance in the future.

Kuppam public look back to Chandrababu Naidu again

The Kuppam Assembly constituency in Andhra Pradesh, home to TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu, is facing intense political change as residents weigh loyalty to Chandrababu against the attractive welfare schemes of the current government.

In 2019, Chandrababu’s support dropped to 55.18%, alarming the TDP. The rise of the YSR Congress Party in 2014 challenged Chandrababu’s dominance, leading to a fierce battle.

Now, the debate centers on welfare schemes versus long-term development in the Kuppam public, which paves the way to chosing Chandrababu over Jagan this time.

The Kuppam contest mirrors Andhra’s larger political turmoil, posing questions about the state’s future path between entitlements and empowerment and dependence versus development.

Nara Lokesh is very energetic during the election campaign for the upcoming Andhra Pradesh assembly elections. During his campaign recently at Rajampeta, he talked about the argument made by some BRS leaders to keep Hyderabad as AP’s joint capital, which he sees as holding back AP’s progress.

Lokesh pointed out the tough situation in AP, where young people still have to go to Hyderabad, Chennai, or Bangalore for jobs. He questioned why AP still hesitates to declare Amaravati as its capital, highlighting the need for determination to develop their own capital.

He promised that if TDP-JSP-NDA forms the government, they will make Amaravati a thriving hub, attracting job seekers from other cities.

Lokesh also mentioned Chandrababu’s vision for Amaravati as AP’s grand capital and plans to make Vizag the executive capital, along with boosting investments in Rayalaseema.

TDP questions YSRCP about using foreign software for Land Titling

TDP vs YSRCP
TDP vs YSRCP

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is criticizing the YSRCP government for choosing a costly US-based company, Critical River, over the free software from the National Informatics Centre (NIC) for land titling. They question why a private company’s software was chosen for Rs 34 crore when NIC’s software is efficient and almost free.

TDP highlights their own CARD software introduced in 1998, saying the YSRCP government’s decision seems suspicious, especially as 17 states use NIC’s software. TDP raises concerns about Critical River’s capability to manage land records securely, given its small size, and questions the selection process and the total amount paid to the company.

They demand transparency about the agreements with Critical River, the work scope, and worry about the safety of property records stored with a private company, fearing possible tampering risks.

TDP has a strategy in alliance with BJP: Ex-Minister Ashok Gajapati Raju

Former Civil Aviation Minister P Ashok Gajapati Raju stated that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaving the NDA in 2018 wasn’t a mistake. He mentioned that rejoining the alliance was reasonable because the BJP promised to do something beneficial for Andhra Pradesh.

Gajapati Raju clarified that he didn’t retire from politics but opted not to contest the ongoing elections due to health reasons. His daughter, Aditi, is contesting for the Vizianagaram Assembly seat against YSR Congress candidate Kolagatla Veerabhadra Swamy.

Regarding TDP’s departure from the NDA in 2018, Gajapati Raju explained that certain commitments from the AP Reorganisation Act needed attention, and they were a bit impatient about the pace of fulfillment. After rejoining the NDA, the TDP believed that the alliance coming to power at the center would aid in the state’s development.
