Veteran leader and Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav passed away today due to a prolonged illness. Mulayam Singh is aged 82. Mulayam Singh Yadav has been battling a prolonged illness and has been hospitalized since August.
Yadav is one of the most influential leaders of Uttar Pradesh. Union Home Minister Amit Shah tweeted, “Mulayam Singh Yadav, with his unparalleled political acumen, remained active in politics for decades. He will be remembered as a leader who was connected to his roots and the people on the ground. His demise has caused immense pain.”
BSP national President Mayawati expressed grief on the death of Mulayam Singh. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declared a 3-day state mourning and stated that the last rites of the leader will be performed with full state honors.
Mulayam Singh Yadav was elected MLA 10 times and he was a 7-time MP as well.
