Undoubtedly SS Rajamouli is the top director in Indian Cinema currently. The director has been promoting his last movie RRR ahead of the Oscars. Though the Film Federation of India hasn’t selected RRR for the Oscars officially, Variance Films initiated a campaign to include RRR in the general category.
The director was busy promoting the movie at various film campaigns in different countries. RRR is one of the rare films which has gotten huge critical acclaim. Starring Ram Charan and NTR in the lead role, RRR has been received very well by the audiences. It is expected that the film might win the Oscars if it gets selected.
Keeping this aside, now, SS Rajamouli has been awarded best director at the New York Film Critics Circle Award. It is one of the prestigious ones and Rajamouli is the only Indian to win an award at New York Film Critics Circle Award.
