Adivi Sesh has played the lead role in the movie Major which is based on the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan. The movie was released in Malayalam and Hindi as well in addition to Telugu. While in Telugu it is a blockbuster hit, the film did average business in the Hindi circuit while it failed to connect with the Malayali audience.
In the US, Major started on a bright note. It collected quarter-million dollars through its premiere and day one. The movie seemed to collect more than 1.5 Million dollars by the end of its theatrical run but it fell short of expectations. Major has collected 1.1 Million dollars in its full run.
Nevertheless, it is a profitable venture for the distributors. Major is directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka. Saiee Manjrekar and Shobitha Dhulipala have played crucial characters. GMB Entertainments, A+S Movies, and Sony Pictures have bankrolled the film.
