Income Tax Officials have raided the office of the top Tollywood production house Mythri Movie Makers and the residence of Sukumar yesterday. The raids continue today as well. A team of IT officials from New Delhi have arrived in Hyderabad yesterday and the searches are continuing at the residences of Mythri Movie Makers promoters Yalamanchili Ravi Shankar and Erneni Naveen along with Sukumar’s house.
IT officials are allegedly enquiring about the financial transactions of the Pushpa director and producers. It is believed that the Mythri Movie Makers have broken investment regulations by bringing in funds from overseas and investing in the films here. Allegedly, the production house brought in an investment of Rs. 500 Crores from abroad without following the RBI norms and also failed to disclose the total investments and expenditures in the IT returns filed by them.
The inquiries are going on and we have to wait and see whether the allegations are true or not. Meanwhile, Pushpa 2 shooting stands halted.
