“I’m not an Rs. 299, Rs. 499 hero to be available on OTT”: John Abraham

 

Bollywood macho hero John Abraham during the promotions of Attack has shown arrogance in stating that Bollywood is the number 1 industry in his view and no other industry can match it. He has also said that he will not act in any regional language movie just to be there and play a character role. Those comments then received backlash. Attack sank without any trace at the theatrical release and later came to the OTT with minimal response.

Now, John Abraham has again made some comments that are demeaning the OTT space. Currently, OTT space is ruling the roost. It has turned savior for many movies. Producers have pocketed big bucks and saved their day. Many stars have recognized the importance of the digital space and are doing films/series for the OTT platforms.

But, John’s view is completely different. He says, “I’m not an Rs. 299 or Rs. 499 actor to be available on the OTT. I am a big-screen hero and that is where I want to be seen. I will find it offensive if a viewer shut down my film midway because he wants to rush to the washroom,” he stated.
