F3 review – silly, funny entertainer

The super hit F2’s sequel F3 got released today. Touted to be an out-and-out comedy entertainer, the film builds good expectations. Let us see how the movie is.

Story:
Venky (Venkatesh), and Varun Yadav (Varun Tej) belong to two different middle-class families. Their main motive is to earn big bucks. They came to know about a big industrialist based in Vijayanagaram who is looking for his heir and that’s when they both decide to seize the opportunity. F3 discusses greed and the importance of money in our lives.
Performances:
Like in F2, again Venky is the backbone of F3. His impeccable comedy timing can be seen throughout the film. He dominates everyone in the frame. His night blindness defect created good laughs.
Varun Tej is good in his role. The writing for his character is good. His stammering defect is used effectively. It is a good role for Varun.
Tamannaah has got another good role. She is superb in the glamour department as well. Mehreen’s role again is etched in a silly way. Sunil, the newest addition to the franchise gets a good role. He provided ample laughs. Rajendra Prasad as honest police is good. Vennela Kishore is fine as well. Raghu Babu and others are adequate. Sonal Chauhan is alright.
Technicalities:
Anil Ravipudi’s strength always lies in comedy. For F3 he strived hard for the comedy and could only succeed in parts. There is an uneven narration throughout. In a few sequences, the comedy looks great, and in the other few felt silly. Overall, it might find audience approval.
Devi Sri Prasad is okay. They come at crucial times. BGM is fine as well. Sai Sriram’s cinematography is passable. The editing thing is good. The production values are fine as well.
Analysis:
F3 is a click or no click film. There is no middle. The film looks silly at times, seems gone overboard at times and yet it can win your heart. Can be watched once.
Rating: 3/5
