Many have expected if RRR has been given a chance to compete at the Oscars then it would have a fair chance to win an award at the prestigious Academy Awards. Many Hollywood filmmakers and technicians praised the movie and several international publications predicted that RRR is the perfect film for India to compete at the highest level.
However, the Film Federation of India has denied RRR and sent Gujarati film The Chhello Show as the official entry. Fans are obviously disappointed by this and they are expressing their anger on social media.
There are also reports that RRR can still make it to the Oscars in the general category. As per the international publication, Variety, the distributor in the USA is in plans to launch a campaign for RRR.
The film is a periodic setup in the Pre Independence Era starring Ram Charan and NTR in the lead roles. SS Rajamouli is the director of the flick.
