The first match for SRH in the IPL 2023 was a forgettable one as RR thumped the Orange team by a huge margin. Asked to bat by the SRH’s stand-in captain Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rajasthan Royals got off to a flying start. Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal got to a dream total where they scored 85 by the end of the powerplay. SRH tried to bring back some momentum toward the end of the innings. However, the top-3 of the RR got off to fantastic half-centuries. Overall, the team scored 203 which is mammoth.
In reply, SRH couldn’t replicate the opening sensation. Boult took two wickets in his opening over which completely changed the momentum. Sunrisers couldn’t recover since then and RR won the game by 72 runs.
