The two most successful franchises in IPL history Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings are now out of the playoffs race. Mumbai has been eliminated long before and now they brought down the curtains for CSK with an emphatic win. Chennai Super Kings was asked to bat first.
Daniel Sams has given MI the perfect start by scalping two wickets in the first over. Bumrah scalped Uthappa with a beauty. Inside the powerplay, CSK were 32/5 and the landslide hasn’t stopped then. Some of the CSK batters got out to some rippers and some of them got out to really bad balls. MS Dhoni has only survived by top-scoring with 32 runs.
Of the bowlers, Daniel Sams has picked up three wickets, Meredith and Kumar Kartikeya have prized out two wickets, and Ramandeep Singh and Bumrah has got one each.
In reply, MI struggled badly as four wickets were down by the end of the powerplay. However, Tilak Varma and Hrithik Shokeen stabilized the innings. Tim David applied the finishing touches.
