Within a few days of completing the West Indies series, India has geared up for another T20 series against Sri Lanka. Even Lanka has completed the Australian tour and is up for another tough pill to swallow. The last time India toured Sri Lanka, India suffered huge blows as many of the players contracted the COVID virus and top-rated players were in England. However, India is putting forth a rather strong team even without the likes of Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, and Deepak Chahar.

The three-match T20 series will kickstart today in Lucknow. The pitch seems to be favorable to the teams batting first. In all the matches at this venue, 4 to be precise, teams batting first have won in all of them.

After the losses against Pakistan and New Zealand, India has won 9 matches in a row. If India manages to clean sweep the series, the 12-match winning streak will be a record. The talented Sanju Samson is likely to return to the team as Suryakumar Yadav has been injured and missed out on the tour. Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah returned to the team.

India’s probable XI: Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer, Sanju Samson, Venkatesh Iyer, Ravindra Jadeja, Harshal Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah.

India might bring in Deepak Hooda or Yuzvendra Chahal as well depending on the conditions.
