After West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee alleges the then AP government under the regime of Nara Chandrababu Naidu has purchased the spyware Pegasus, Telugu Desam Party’s national general secretary Nara Lokesh has denied the claims. Nara Lokesh worked as Minister for Information Technology under TDP ruling.

He has clarified that Israel had indeed offered the spyware to Andhra Pradesh but their government had rejected it. He further said that the Jagan government has been trying hard to fix them and if that happened, would Jagan’s sarkar spare them?

“If we had Pegasus spyware, if we tapped phones, Jagan would be in a huge problem by now,” Nara Lokesh said. He has reacted to Mamata Banerjee’s claim. “I don’t know what and in which context she said. If she said that actually, I can say that she was misinformed. Chandrababu would not do such things. If we did that, Jagan would not have come to power in 2019,” he concluded.
