Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a virtual meeting today afternoon to discuss the rise in the latest infections of COVID. The nation has been witnessing the rise in COVID cases again. Although not alarming at the moment, centre has decided to be cautious and held a virtual meeting with the states’ Chief Ministers.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao skipped the meeting as he is busy with the TRS foundation day celebrations. Apart from speaking on the COVID issue, Narendra Modi took up the topic of fuel prices. He targeted Non-BJP ruling states and urged to reduce the VAT being imposed by the state governments. “We reduced the tax by 10 Rs. last November. We requested the state governments to do the same but few states ignored by words,” Narendra Modi took indirect potshot.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee intervened Modi’s speech and questioned, “Is this the right dias to speak on fuel prices?”

Narendra Modi then continued about the precautions on COVID.
