The elections in Telangana are underway. The polling started today at 7 AM and will continue until 5 PM in the evening. Till 9 AM, only 9 percent of the voters turn up to cast their votes. It is expected that the voter turn out will increase after 11 AM.
The elections are being conducted in Telangana for 119 assembly constituncies. The state is witnessing a fierce battle between three political parties BRS, BJP, and Congress. Asaduddin Owaisi’s All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) is contesting in 7 assembly constituencies and Jana Sena in 8.
The opinion polls suggested that this time there will be tough competition between Congress and BRS. Both these parties have spent lavishly for Google Ads for social media campaigns.
A total of 2,290 candidates are in the battle trying their luck. In the 2018 elections, BRS party formed the government by securing 88 seats with Congress confining to 19 and BJP for just one. The majority of the movie celebrities have casted their votes early in the morning. Jr NTR, Allu Arjun, Chiranjeevi, Nithiin, and many others have utilized their vote power.
