The NRIs in New Jersey thought of giving back to the land who have given them so much. They are involved in helping needy students by awarding them scholarships. So they set up the Telugu People’s foundation and are giving scholarships to poor people.

So far the foundation has raised 30 million rupees and is going so strong. They have helped more than 325 students so far. Out of the 325 students, they helped so far, 126 students studied in government schools. Telugu People Foundation celebrated its 14th anniversary at JP Stevens High School in Edison, New Jersey. 107,000 dollars was collected as funds for this program.

President of the Telugu People Foundation Kota Krishna expressed happiness that 26 people are studying in prestigious institutions like IIT, Central University, and NIT. Founder Konishetti Prasad and 10 of them are studying medicine. Anup Rubens, singer Simha, and many others participated in this program. Telugu families from New Jersey and Edison participated in this program on a large scale.
