Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa chants reverberated in the United States of America. Ayyappa Swamy Deeksha is so popular in Southern India but it is not limited to that area. Ayyappas can be seen across the world during this time and particularly in the United States. The season is for Ayyappa Swamys and they immerse themselves in Ayyappa Deeksha for 41 days. Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa is the breath for them in these times.
As said, even in the United States, Initiating Ayyappa Swamy Deeksha is a common practice. Thousands of people living in the United States took up the Deeksha. They all visited Ayyappa Swamy deity at Sri Shiva Vishnu Temple in Maryland and ended their Deeksha. Under the guidance of Sankaramanchi Raghu Sharma at the Sai Datta Peetham in Edison, Ayyappa Swamys will tie the Irumudi, and visit all the deities in the temple before leaving for Maryland.
Weather is not favorable for Ayyappa Swamy Deeksha in the United States currently. For the past few days, snow storms made life standstill. But those who took up the Deeksha performed their duties with utmost devotion. They reached Maryland and ended up with their Deeksha.
