Shanti Sethi has been appointed United States Vice President Kamala Harris’ defence advisor. She will serve as executive secretary. She will coordinate documents related to the national security advisor. Shanti joined the U.S. Navy in 1993.
She served as Guide Missile Destroyer, U.S. Dictator, Ship In charge in the U.S. Navy. She was the first Indo-American to serve as a U.S. warship commander. She was also the first woman commander of a US ship that arrived in India.
Sethi was born in Reno, Nevada. Her mother was born in Canada, while her father moved to the US in the early 1960s.
