With a year to go for the United States Presidential elections, the probable candidates are throwing their hats in the rings. After Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy becomes the second Indian-Origin candidate to run for the Presidential post in the 2024 elections. Vivek Ramaswamy, who served as the former US ambassador to the UN comes from the Republican Party where Nikki Haley and Donald Trump are looking to run for the Presidential elections as well.
Ramaswamy was born in the year 1985 to Indian parents who hail from Kerala and later migrated to the United States. His father worked at the General Electric Plant in Evendale, Ohio. His mother was a geriatric psychiatrist in Cincinnati. Vivek Ramaswamy completed his graduation in Biology from Harvard College in 2007. He later went to Yale Law School to pursue a Doctor of Jurisprudence.
While studying at the college, he was the president of the Harvard Political Union, as per the reports. Ramaswamy in the year 2014 established Roivant, a pharmaceutical business. In the year 2015, he was featured on the cover of Forbes magazine. After stepping down as the CEO at Roivant, Vivek Ramaswamy co-founded Strive Asset Management, an Ohio-based asset management firm.
