Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and USA President Joe Biden are set to be meeting virtually today. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said the meeting would coincide with a meeting between the defense and foreign ministers of the two countries. In the virtual meeting, the two-nation heads will be discussing the strengthening of bilateral ties, the Russian war on Ukraine, progress on the establishment of the Indo-Pacific economic framework, and infrastructure.
The last time Narendra Modi spoke with Biden was in March with the Quad leaders. After the virtual meeting, the US-India 2+2 Ministerial meeting is set to happen with Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin going to discuss some key points regarding the relationship between the two nations with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.
This meeting has garnered importance over USA displeasure towards India’s stand in the Russia-Ukraine war.
