In a huge shock to the Telugu Desam Party, Mangalagiri crucial TDP leader Ganji Chiranjeevi joined the ruling YSRCP. The ruling party chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy welcomed him into the party by draping the YSRCP shawl. YCP top leaders Alla Ramakrishna Reddy and MLC Murugudu Hanumantha Rao were present there as well.
After joining the party, Chiranjeevi said that YSRCP is working hard for the development of underprivileged sections. He also said that under the leadership of YS Jagan, the state is booming with development. He criticized the left party Telugu Desham. He said that there is no respect for downtrodden sections. “The majority section of people belong to the same social class,” he added.
Ganji Chiranjeevi is a prominent leader in the Mangalagiri constituency. He contested from TDP in 2014 against Alla Ramakrishna Reddy and lost the elections. In 2019, he was not given the ticket as Nara Lokesh was given preference.
